An easy change without buying a brand new energy saving model. We live in a dry climate so I switched the heated dry cycle to air dry. The dishes are just as dry when it is done.
Energy Use
Dishwasher | KWh | KWh/yr | $/yr | lbs CO2 | Price |
Heat Dry | .88 | 229 | $20 | 480 | $0 |
Air Dry | .68 | 176 | $15 | 370 | $0 |
Savings: 23% Now this is nickle and dime. But it is too easy to pass up. 53 KWh saved with one press of a button, lazy. Besides, with that extra $5 I could buy a lot of ramen, or let it pay for 25% of the Kill-a-Watt meter, each year.
